One killed in Fort Bragg training accident

Fort Bragg, N.C. — One contractor was killed Tuesday, and a second contractor and a soldier were wounded during a training operation at Fort Bragg, officials said.
The accident occurred at Range 77 on post, but no details of the incident were released. A Fort Bragg spokeswoman said the incident wasn't related to Robin Sage training exercise that started last weekend or a joint training exercise with Marines from Camp Lejeune.
A range control contractor was shot and died at Womack Army Medical Center. A second range control contractor also was shot and was airlifted to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill for treatment.
A bullet grazed the arm of a soldier who is a student at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg. He was being treated at Womack Army Medical Center.
The identities of the two contractors and the soldier haven't been released.
The incident remains under investigation.

Busy night in the Orderly Rooms tonight
Hate to say it but..........
Everyother wife of a student out at Robin Sage - and any in the field - will be calling the orderly rooms demanding to know the status of their husband.
Some companies might know no more than was reported in the news - bad luck to have a hysterical wife on the phone. Usually the ones who couldn't find time to learn what was going on or which phase their husband was doing.
Been there, answered the phone.

That's exactly what happened with my Robin Sage Class back in 2002. Except that student company was overwelmed and some people got information and others didn't.

Sad to hear of his incident but luckily some PJs were in helos and were able to respond quickly. My prayers go out to the families involved.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. -- A contractor shot and killed during a training accident at a North Carolina Army post is identified as a retired sergeant.
Tennessee-based Echota (ee-CHOH'-tah) Technologies Corp. said Thursday that 57-year-old Edward Jenkins died at Womack Army Medical Center on Tuesday.
A company spokeswoman said Jenkins had worked for Echota since January providing range maintenance and support at Fort Bragg. She did not know Jenkins' hometown.
The company said 27-year-old Daniel R. Aliff was shot and wounded. He has been released from the hospital.
The Army said 25-year-old Pfc. Zachary Tams of Gold Beach, Ore., was grazed in the arm by a bullet. Tams is a Special Forces student at the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School. He was treated and released from the hospital.

Yes my husband was the first to respond ,he was standing less than 10 feet from the man .He also had the help of a 68W and another 18D from another field team .They did everything in their power to save him before the helo's arrived .
