Road Food

Was watching the Cooking Channel this morning and they had a bit on about www.roadfood.com The most memorable local eateries along the highways and back roads of America

Looks like kind of a Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives concept (love that show!)...these two guys ride around and find all kinds of joints to visit then review the food. Could be an interesting site to check out, especially for those of you who travel a bit for work or pleasure.

Two places in Chattanooga, Tn:

Bea's, where you sit at a round table and the food is piled in the center and is refilled. Great fried chicken. Eat till you are done. Big crowds of working folks at lunch and a big Sunday after church crowd. It's the fried chicken.

Nikki's Drive-In, though no longer a true drive-in, terrific road food, and the best jumbo fried shrimp to be had. Cash, checks (yes, they'll take a check), but no credit cards.

Time for a trip back to Chattanooga.
