Official: Taliban execute boy, 7, as spy

Why am I not surprised?
I believe there are homo sapiens and another class of sub-humans species.
This sub-human species is on par with the intellectual capacity of a baboon, but, can be 10 times as brutal as the baboon.

So, and I say this knowing the answer, where is the outrage. Where are people screaming and wailing in the streets, where is the rock throwing and burning and tirades against the Taliban and AQ.

Im sure killing a "spy" is sanctioned by some imam who would happily quote you a passage from the Qur'an and then would inform you about how allah will welcome the boy into his arms.

MOO - but I'd wager there's more to it than merely being a 'spy' - the politics of such situations and underlying the 'message' being sent in so many parts of the world are murkier than the standing water in the low area of a pig sty.

Seeing as this is in "a militant strong hold", I agree with Richard.
Killing to sway the locals is common in areas that are not controlled by the Taliban. They use individual & mass murders to get the attention of the recalcitrant non-believers. AKA: The suicide bomber yesterday at the wedding.
But to grab a 7 YO kid from one of "your team" would suggest that there is something else. If the parents were spies the complete family would be dead.
Maybe the kid was going to tell all about the imam who was shagging him in the sheep shed?

But this isn't anything new, is it? I recall some of the stories about the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia - they visited all manner of horrors on children. Some of it was to "rescue" children from their capitalist parents. Other actions were meant to terrify elements of the population, and hence to control them.
And then, there was the Iranian procedure of clearing minefields with children as young as 12 - even under the parents' objections.
I get the impression that human nature has some bright spots - along with some very dark corners. Unfortunately, distance no longer isolates us from some of the worst elements. We had best try to remain strong.
