Pirates Terrorize Boaters on Texas Lake
I suspect the citizens of the Republic of Texas won't allow this to go on for very long before applying the Anti-Somali Pirate treatment...

And so it goes...

Always good to go fishing with a weapon or two should you meet up with a snake or two. I always did carry in Texas, LA, and Mississippi.

If you cross into Mexico, "you're on your own".
But if you cross into the United States, the Presidente will come and shoot off his mouth in Congress on your behalf.
Interesting.

Big Teddy,
Probably one of my best duty assignments was to Columbus AFB, MS. That was where a "career broadening duty" took me a bit out of medicine and to B/2/20th, and life membership with the SFA.
It was a bit of a transition from the left coast @ Vandenberg AFB and Rancho del Cielo to the Deep South. We lived off base, and were well treated by the locals. I really had no problems with the "red necks".
In terms of this thread, I did have several encounters with Cotton Mouths on and near the water, the Tom Bigby for one. One actually made it into my boat. A fellow angler pulled up his 20 ga to shoot the serpent in the boat. I was able to use an oar to get the Cotton Mouth back into the water and save us from self inflected sinking.....pirates would not have had a chance if they tried to take my boat.
Be well Amigo!!

A friend of mine who lives by the lake said it's business as usual. This shit's been going on for years.

Perhaps it's time for Congress to exercise one of their actual powers and grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal.
