Thumbs up GOLDEN KNIGHTS

You knew, sooner or later, I'd have to ask if one or two of our brethren are interested in taking a break from getting shot at and spend some more time with their knees in the breeze and silk over their heads.

BLUF: The United States Army Parachute Team, The GOLDEN KNIGHTS, are looking for a few great Troopers. Prior to 9/11 we regularly had SF NCOs on the Team. Sometime after that, the OPTEMPO precluded them from joining the Team.

Now, SGM Young, the Golden Knights Sergeant Major, has been working with SF Branch and CSM Vigil to get approval for SF Troopers back onto the Golden Knights.

We've got a great opportunity for people who love the Army, love to sky dive and love to travel - but may be ready for a break from getting shot at.*

Why?

Because the GOLDEN KNIGHTS are the face of the Army - tasked with helping connect America's People with America's Army.

Interested?

Now is the right time to get your application packet together.

Not SF?

That's fine. There's currently only two Green Berets on the Team - SGM Young and me.

Prove you’re the right person at Golden Knight Assessment & Selection this fall and you’ll get selected to join the ranks of the World-Champion Golden Knights.

Check out the VIDEO here:
http://www.youtube.com/usarmygoldenk.../0/taJ4yZfQtmo

Then go to:
www.armygoldenknights.com

…and click on Downloads, Forms, Tryout Packet and you’ll find the application and additional information.

Got questions? Call (910)396-4800 and ask for 1SG Schnell.

Complete application packets are due by July 31st.

But don’t wait.

Because you’ll need you chain of command’s endorsement,

Get started NOW!

_____________
* NOTE: Golden Knights are deploying into theater on a regular basis to support both CJSOTF-A and CJSOTF-AP. We are down to single digits that don't have combat experience. By the end of 2010 we should have 100% of those deployable on the Team with at least one combat deployment.

Hope you don't mind me posting this in this thread...my wife and I caught the team yesterday at the JSOH at Andrews. Great stuff, the freefall jump in particular was one of the highlights of the show. Compliments to all involved. One of the many pics I took attached.
