RNC Dismisses Finance Chief, Deputy
USAToday, 6 May 2009

The Republican National Committee's finance director and his deputy were forced out Friday, the latest victims of a scandal involving reimbursements for donors who attend a lesbian bondage-themed nightclub in Los Angeles, California.

RNC chief of staff Michael Leavitt sent an e-mail message Friday to committee members telling them of the latest changes in the fundraising department and promising better stewardship of donors' dollars heading toward crucial congressional elections in November.

Not to quibble, but the USA Today article misidentifies the location of the establishment: Voyeur is in West Hollywood.

IMO, two ironies of the scandal are that a bunch of Republicans spent RNC money in the most politically blue city in Southern California while lusting after girls who are into girls, and that those involved went to the west side for a show and tell party when Pr0n Valley is just a hop skip and jump away.

Or so I've heard.

AYSM (are you shitting me) ???

So, it is national news when an RNC staffer throws together/coordinates/attends an outting to a sex-themed club...and picks up a $2000 tab? The reporting on this leaves alot to be considered if you spend a minute thinking thru what they wrote.

Either this was a "string" of incidents of lavish spending (as reported by the LA Times) http://http://articles.latimes.com/2010/may/09/nation/la-na-rnc-20100509, or a "string" of reports about the same event. If it was a "string", I guess it was just more politically expedient to pick out the strip club incident.

I would like to know what the other inferred incidents were that was referenced in the Times.

...and then, what level of leadership should be held accountable for an expendature of $2000.00? I guess this should go down as a blanket "Overall responsible for what your subordinates do/fail to do." I just can't subscribe to that line of thinking. If a leader should have known, but didn't, was negligent, or just outright incompetent...then I got it...game-on.

I just cant believe a senior official in the RNC (or DNC for that matter) could resaonably be expected to know every billing for every event. That's BS.

Of course, only half the story has been reported.
