Texas gov. shoots coyote during jog
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100427/..._shoots_coyote
Quote:
AUSTIN, Texas – Pistol-packing Texas Gov. Rick Perry has a message for wily coyotes out there: Don't mess with my dog.
Perry told The Associated Press on Tuesday he needed just one shot from the laser-sighted pistol he sometimes carries while jogging to take down a coyote that menaced his puppy during a February run near Austin.
Perry said he will carry his .380 Ruger — loaded with hollow-point bullets — when jogging on trails because he is afraid of snakes. He'd also seen coyotes in the undeveloped area.
When one came out of the brush toward his daughter's Labrador retriever, Perry charged.

I take back all the bad stuff I have ever said about Texas.

A friend sent me this and asked what my governor did today.
I said, "Probably watched Sesame Street and drank some green tea".

We might be better off if he'd let the coyotes be and went after the den of polecats dug in around that sandstone swamp we built in Washington, DC.

I was hoping he shot one of those "illegal border runner" coyote types.
If it was just an animal, shucks here in Cali, Nancy Pelosi could neuter a Grizzly bear with personality alone...

I like how the report states that the governor carries his gun "loaded with hollow point bullets." When I carry my gun, I mean if I had one , I would carry it empty so I could throw it at the "coyotes" .

Sounds like Presidential material to me.

Must've been a slow news day for the world - it's certainly not news here in Tejas.

Yeah, that was what I was getting at...would have expected a .45 ACP or something similar. But I can understand the .380 ACP for running/jogging.

Be careful Gov. Perry, or the next thing you know, this is how some group will be portraying you.

He was a C-130 pilot in the USAF - there are reasons they don't let them handle anything bigger than a .38. Now his Texas Ranger PSD ffolkes are a different story...

Laser sights
About the only comment I have heard or read on the episode here in Texas is that it is illegal to hunt with laser sights in Texas. Considered unmanly.
