The Pig and the Chicken

THE PIG AND THE CHICKEN:

Every year, on the first Saturday in April, right around “April Fools Day”, people gather in the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, San Diego County, California, for the annual “Pegleg Smith Liars Contest”. I think this years contest was held on July 26-30 in Boston. Never, in the course of human events, has so much prevarication been presented, as factual, to so many people. As is the case in all liars contests, just enough half-truths and innuendo is included to make it sound believable to the masses who never bother to look for truth. Still there are those among us who will even believe the tall tales told at the “Pegleg Smith” fiasco. The serious part is that the “Pegleg” contest is all in fun, but the Democrat Convention is a serious mater that could affect the entire country.

This convention brings to my mind two things I have witnessed in movies and on TV. Every year in Texas they have a “Greased Pig Competition” where young men and women are put into a large pig sty with a greased pig which each competitor tries to capture. The young pig is well greased and very slippery. As the pig darts from place to place, the competitors try their best to get it into a corner so it can be pinned down, but the pig is constantly and quickly changing directions and positions, and is so well greased, it makes catching the pig very difficult. Sound familiar? The other incident comes from one of the famous “Rocky” movies. Remember when Rocky’s manager decided that Rocky needed to improve his quickness and made him get into a fenced area and chase a young rooster around the area until Rocky could finally get that very illusive fowl? The rooster was constantly changing positions very quickly and was hard to keep up with. Familiar too!

“John-John“, or “Tweedle Dee-Tweedle Dum“, are just like the Pig and the chicken. They are well greased, quick and very illusive. You can’t pin them down or get them into a corner, because what they say today will be reversed tomorrow. Their speeches are full of insinuation, innuendo, rhetoric, half-truths and down-right lies. We have a saying in Florida that if you don’t like the weather today, just wait, cause it will change tomorrow. Well, if you don’t like what the Democrats say today, just wait, cause it will change tomorrow.
