Political Correctness
A good friend of mine just sent me this e-mail. These are his words, and I think many of you will like what he has to say.
Quote:
This true and troubling story (about the Navy SEAL on trial for roughing up a suspect who murdered civilian contractors and burned their bodies publicly) is the DIRECT RESULT of our collective failure to trounce Political Correctness the moment it started polluting our society in the 70s and 80s, and thus here we are: awash with infuriating examples such as this, many of which fuel the daily parade of lunacy that constitutes the news.
I have been fighting PC nonsense and "progressive ideology" ever since my prep school house counselor, Ms. Harper, a far-left moonbat who had no business governing a house of 11 adolescent male jocks, took to lecturing me about "sensibilities" and the like -- a long list of misplaced and unearned tolerance in my enduring opinion -- and I have been at it ever since. I have taken a lot of grief for it down the years too, often times being labeled a "troublemaker", or a "Neanderthal", and other labels which are affixed to people who resist this terrible undercurrent, in an Alinsky-esque attempt to disarm and discredit.
Thus it comes as little solace now, feeling vindicated by way of seeing a mounting collection of ABSOLUTELY ABSURD stories such as this, where a brave Navy SEAL is ON TRIAL HIMSELF for dragging a raggedy Muslim murderer's ass in to face the man on the bench. The Navy SEAL deserves a MEDAL, not a JAG-appointed defense attorney.
Our collective failure (or even our tacit allowance) to stand up to this crap, which is de facto nothing more than tyranny of the minority emboldened by decades of systematic, self-flagellating Christian guilt, has given us 3rd-grade books with stories about bi-sexual penguins and cross-dressing roosters, and the like, and has surgically removed our societal spine, one vertebrae at a time from the small of the backs that built this Republic. It has wasted countless resources debating things such as "transgender restroom rights", and other such bullshit. It is beyond absurd, and it needs to be crushed without further delay, at every turn, and if I hear John McCain, a great patriot and a fine man who is Senator of the state from which I am presently writing this agitated missive, embrace anymore of this stuff with "My friends..." as his preamble, I may well just vomit the last remains of my liver out all over this keyboard; we need leaders who will start calling the spades "spades" again, as they denounce them for the enemies of Liberty, Common Sense, True Equality, and other Great Virtues they truly are...
I have said I thought 2010 was going to be the year people started killing Political Correctness with a million pin pricks of reasoned resistance, and I am urging you all to COME ALONG on that campaign, and SPREAD THE WORD. Please know that this is not a call for violence of any sort, just a solicitation to impose appropriate consequences on perpetrators of Political Correctness, and to resolutely resist, without fear, all aspects of Political Correctness, which by my estimation and long and thoughtful analysis is the most divisive and dangerous trend in human history.

Your "friend" should consider two things: there's always more to the story, and good order and discipline means more in the military than out of it. The media and various misguided persons turned this into a circus, now it has to play out on a public stage before a largely ignorant audience. If he wants to attack the PC mindset, he needs to find a better cause célèbre. There are plenty of worthy targets out there for tilting at windmills.

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.
