Your first time...
Deployed. What did you think I was gonna ask? I'd like to hear some first time deployment stories, any kind, combat, training, or just an overseas travel, whatever.
I cannot state any story of my own, I've never been outside the country and am not enlisted yet. My brother was in the Corps and got to go to Hawaii, Okinawa, and went to port and liberty at several other places. Says it was the best time of his life, being on ship.

You might want to do some reading and use the Search button before starting a new thread.
Lot of stories about that posted here already, no real need for a new rehashing of them.

In a nutshell - we were alerted, we did pre-deployment planning/training/prep, we deployed, we employed our planning and training, we re-deployed, we did post-deployment activities IAW our SOPs, we visited Hay Street and eventually rode the Vomit Comet back to the barracks.
So...was it good for you, too?
