No such thing as a safe haven, if there ever really was.
Local kid here planned to attack the High School with stolen weapons that he would get when he killed the sheriff. Population of the town is about 700.

Sir, you are absolutely correct. I cannot think about one myself except maybe there is one somewhere in Alaska.

By the way is "homesteading" still allowed in any of the states? Last I heard, Alaska was still available.

Alas, Homesteading was ended in 1976 but Alaska got dispensation to continue it until '86. The last Homesteading title was awarded in 1989.

However there have been recent land give aways with the contingent of a house be started and built within a certain time frame and worth a certain value. I cannot remember all the details right now but I think there were 10 total 3 acre lots outside of Anderson that they were giving away to anyone willing to build on them last spring.

Also there is a great program called over the counter land for sale in Alaska. $500 dollars down and payments something like $110-150 per month on lots as small as 5 acres and as large as 19. Great way to start yourself a cabin.
