haha I thought this thread was going to be a call to arms! I figured someone had swiped some of your equipment, and you were calling for a tracking team.

Haven't gone thru and inventoried work in progress or tools yet. Might still need the tracking team.

Hold the phone! I was informed that barley flavored beverages were deposited at the Harsey shop as an admitance fee... Bill, please clarify...

It was truly an honor. I know everyone was impressed by your hospitality, ingenuity (I mean, honestly... who makes their own tools in order to better make other tools?! I struggle with figuring out how a socket wrench works and you're fashioning custom hammer forges from scrap metal and spare springs! ), and just the overall experience.
The drive down was worth every second and then some. I know I speak for everyone in saying it was an absolute honor and pleasure meeting you. Besides, it gave us an excuse to stop in Portland for the night and check out the local watering holes... which never fails to be an interesting experience.
P.S. Have fun with that new bumper... those dirty stinkin' hippies won't know what hit 'em!

FearMonkey,
The honor was truly mine.
I started building my own tools and machines because I often couldn't afford the commercially made ones or they were not strong enough or just didn't exist.
My neighbor to the North works building and fixing logging and big construction stuff for large operations. My scrap pile of steel has benefited greatly from this over the years.
Way back in 1983 I got a surplus welder from a shipyard in Portland. The top end is over 500 amps and is wired for full capacity. This helps with the heavy steel work. (can make TV's flicker for half a mile when it's turned up )
New bumper is on the old truck, it makes the whole rig swerve towards tie-dye.
Thanks again for coming down.
