Can the perfect soldier be described?
Can the traits, personality, mentality, physicality, etc.. be confined to a description or list? Is this too fluid a concept to try to shape like that?

A U.S. Ranger once told me being very physically fit is the foundation of all soldiering then the rest comes easy like training, patrolling etc.
You have to be very strong in body mind and the soul.
Soldiering is not a job. It is a calling much like being a police officer is a calling.
The Air Force is probably about the least militarized of all and some people can't handle the strict military structure or the way of life.
( Getting up at 0430 and running in formation etc. has nothing to do with combat. )
Some people are just not cut out for the military.
It does not depend on the equipment but on the man. Equipment does play a small part but essentially, It is all in the man.
Look at the Roman Army in ancient history, It was not in the equipment but in the quality of the men the Roman Army had because of high physical standards.
