UK Police Issue Osman Warnings

I thought this was interesting.

Quote:
(UK) If Muslim extremists are angered enough to issue a fatwa for your death, the British police may inform you by issuance of an Osman warning, part of which contains the following words.

(Scanned attachment goes here...)

Correct me if I'm mistaken, but it appears that the warning says simply: "Someone wants to kill you and it's your fault."

The excerpt is from the warning given to Paul Ray, a founder of the arguably moderate English Defense League (EDL). The death threat was posted on the extremist Revolution Muslim chat forum with Mr. Ray's photo, address, and known places he frequents. The Revolution Muslim forum entry promised a repeat of what happened to Theo van Gogh, who was murdered in broad daylight in Amsterdam.

Presumably, the warning given to Mr. Ray was specific to his circumstances but it's not a stretch to conclude that the police are quite prepared to blame the victim as opposed to the perpetrators of terroristic threats.

It's difficult to erase the impression that the Muslim extremists can do anything they please while the police tell the general population to be quiet and don't make them mad. I contend that it's unacceptable for the police to be cheerleaders for political correctness.

Osman Report?

My google fu may be weak this morning.

Did a search and the only related "Osman" I could find was this

http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp...167&sec=nation

Do you have a link to a news story or government press release?

The only link to the report is here

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_vYuG9YvoWr...-h/image+1.JPG

The image has no heading and no other ID marks. So the questions are "Is it real?" "Is it SOP for all LEOs over there?" and "why no news stories on it?"

Not sure if this helps - Lionheart (Mr. Ray) addresses the threats made against him in the link below:

If I’m not mistaken, Paul was acquitted of his charge of- “Suspicion of stirring up racial hatred”
