He is going for the "Insane American" plea, to be followed by deportation.

I hear the jailers have corrected his attitude a bit though.

Well he already spent some time so he should be used to it. Hopefully they will make him spend his time in an Afghan prison. All I can think about is that scene from Midnight Express where Randy Quaid gets stabbed in the ass, because that is allowed.

Hmmmm... and the plot thickens...
The BBC Reports... that the American government called them "counter-terrorist mercenaries" that were "out of their control." Also apparently they called in bomb squads, while posing as members of a Special Operations unit. Isn't there some federal laws that were just broken? Also, why would they be refered to as Counter-Terrorist mercenaries (in the BBC) when all the other reports say that the US has denied any knowledge of them?
