We are no longer United as a nation.
And so, maybe its time the liberals had their socialistic society and the remainder had our freedom.

I cannot believe you actually read the NYT's. Personally I've had enough of the lies and misinformation the NYtimes spues. If I recall correctly the NYTimes is/was almost bankrupt.
This article is nothing more than a left wing loon that goes by the name of frank rich writing about a man exercising his US Constitution rights.
I see nothing scary in that, then again I'm not a left-wing lib that uses the American Flag as a door mat or the US Constitution as toilet paper.
Maybe the current socialist leadership should appoint another czar to look into this 2nd Amendment thing.
The people should never be afraid of their government, ever.
I was not there at the time this gentleman was photographed sporting an M-4, but had I been I would have been packing also, except mine would have been concealed.
Am I too a nut?
frank rich , you're a spineless coward that does not deserve the freedoms that good men have died defending....

Remember - it's an opinion piece - not a news article - and this guy obviously speaks from the same orifice in which his head appears to be so firmly implanted.

Cheeze, I thought what was interesting: the palpable fear that Mr. Rich was alluding to, the threat of freedom if you will. That said, I try to read everything and then, hopefully form an opinion, which usually is unwelcome among those who tolerate; either out of love or social kindness, my company.

I will take offense anytime some idiot calls someone a "nut" just because they are exercising their Constitutional rights.
You remember playing cops and robbers and shooting each other with a pointy stick in the playground? Banned.
You remember your friends bringing their guns to school to go hunting later that day or were hunting the morning, Banned.
Now if you wear a tee-shirt or draw a picture with a gun on it your kicked out of school.
I've had enough of the lib cowards and their comments. I for one would stand by the "nut" on the street to the death. I will always attempt to stand up for what I think is right.
I think I'll go and find him and buy him lunch as I sure as hell don't fear him.

This cuts to the core of the problem.
For the MSM, and most of the pols, the USA is composed of the Washington-Boston megalopolis, and the left coast from San Diego to Seattle.
Everything in between is flyover country. No need for guns, cars, SUVs, etc. Just send them their refined oil, electric power, and most of all, tax money.

I lived most my life in the country. But after living in DC for the last year and a half. Also spending a lot of time in major Cities thru out the US. That statement is absolutely true. It's like living in a bubble. Everyone feels like the are owed something here. They really do walk around with a chip on their shoulders in these here parts

"When Bush began shredding the Constitution after 9/11 my American husband and I (I am Canadian) moved our family to Canada. When Bush began saying that anyone who opposed his policies was not a patriot, my husband cried. At that point he told me that American democracy was dying...."
He cried bc he is a big panocha. If it's such a bad time in America, then why not stick around and fight it out for what you want instead of running. Frustrating.

Reaper is quite right. After leaving active duty i went back to school and then became what is now known as an evil Investment Banker which mainly requires you to live in these cities. Lived in Boston, NYC, and London and these people really dont ever get out of the city. They really think that NYC is the center of the universe. I am not talking about your average NY City good guy but the Master of the Universe NY Times reader. Actually went on a business trip to Florida with a senior banker and he had never even heard of a Waffle House. I took him to one and he seemed to enjoy the experience I managed to escape to Colorado three years ago and it is Glorious I just wished 10th Group had moved here back in the 80s. I avoid business trips back to NYC like the plague.

Hypocrisy 101
Gents,
At least you know what to expect with the NY Times they are consistently liberal. Senators Feinstein (CA) and Schumer (NY) lead the charge for gun control but both have concealed carry permits. The only nuts are people who re-elect them.

The NYT's has floated a high interest loan from a Mexican Billionaire to keep it's doors open....I'd think that extremely sad except it is the NYT's and they will get exactly what the deserve for becoming a political mouthpiece rather than a news source.
I believe I saw Rich on the Oreilley factor quite awhile ago...the man was pitiful, he was visably afraid of O when they had a sharp exchange, I was embarrased for the twerp....he is afraid of his own shadow....
