Rest In Peace CSM

The DEA is dedicating the Auditorium at the El Paso Intelligence Center after Mike on 10 August at 0900 hrs (MDT); followed by a Memorial Service at Fort Bliss Chapel One at 1300 hrs, committal services at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 1430 hrs, then the Celebration of Mike’s life at the VFW 812, in McKelligon Canyon, home of SFA Chapter IX.

Mike’s headstone will be the standard marker, but at the bottom will be the inscription “Hard Times Don’t Last, Hard Men do”. Everyone who knows him will think it is extremely fitting.

CSM Bill Houston of 1/7th SFG will be sending down an honor guard.

I had the pleasure/honor of serving with Mike in 1/5th SFG when he made CSM.
He was all you would want an SF soldier to be and then some.
He never quit soldiering and carried a ruck as often as a CSM as any team member.
Great Man.

CSM Jefferson and his family lived next door to me in housing at Bragg 95-97. They were without a doubt the best neighbors we ever had. My thoughts and prayers are with Shirley, Stevie and the rest of his family as they deal with his loss.
