Joseph W. Wohlfeil

Joseph W. Wohlfeil passed away recently at the age of 95.

Joe served as a 2nd Lt with Company "C" of the 5307 Composite Regiment (provisional) otherwise known as Merrill's Marauders.

I was privileged to know him through my Dad and once had the chance to introduce him to Col. Rex Applegate. They got along just fine.

Joe also owned the famous Brightwood Tavern which was the first fine watering hole that a logger could find coming out of the Mt. Hood National forest.

Joe, thank you for what you did for this nation. It was an honor to know you.
You would be pleased to see the many extraordinary young men here who are carrying on the the tradition you helped establish.

God Speed Sir.
