32 more mouths

Just could add 32 more mouths that will run off to the press with "I know a Secret."

The cynic in me says this is being driven by the eight that currently get the briefings and don't like the fact that when things go wrong they get all the blame while their peers get off free. They see what happened to Nancy Pelosi and they want to spread the political risk around.

Frankly I have no problem with expanding the number of Congress critters being briefed if they have to get a security clearance like everyone else and they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law for leaking info. Since they won't do either than I am opposed to it.

Although I have little confidence in the ability of today's members of Congress to keep secrets secret, I do not mind the notion of the legislative branch doing more to check the executive branch.

The fact that this is unfolding when one party has both Congress and the White House will limit the counter argument that this is just partisan politics.

And if the sitting president pushes back and causes some tension within his own party, so much the better.

I don't like this idea one bit. What level of clearance are they talking about giving these boobs? I just don't feel it's in our country's best interest for every Tom, Dick or Nancy on Capitol Hill to KNOW EVERYTHING. What happened to the old "need to know"?
I have always felt that there are somethings people just don't need to know about. What/who is going to keep 32 mouths shut and not running from one reporter to another with "pssst, wanna know a secret?"? (Makes me think of the old rule, 3 can keep a secret if 2 are dead). They blab to a friend to look more important (because they have HUGE fragile egos), and EVERYONE finds out about it.
Nothing is sacred with this "regime".

First of all - many of these so-called "public servants" couldn't qualify for a clearance so they'll get a hand-waive and access to classified data based upon their position as a "politcian";

Secondly - the point is made that they'll be utterly unable to shut their sucks when entrusted with said data;

Thirdly - once they all get the right to being informed of everything that is going on, nothing will ever get approved as there will NEVER be a consensus as to a common course of action. Unity of effort will be destroyed as the 'rats will never put the Country's security over their thirst for power. Can you see them having pre-po'd subpeona's for anything that may go wrong in the future?? Hell, some of these rat-bastages dug out MFR's covering their ass in relation to the interrogations. Funny that they didn't raise it as an issue at the time.....

No number of men can keep a secret if any of them are Congresscritters.

What happened? Nothing...it all went away, swept under the rug.

Jim P, TR, Snaquebite, Teddy and TS.....I couldn't agree more!
Warrior Mentor... ya know, I never knew Benjamin Franklin said that..I heard it quoted in the title of a book. And always liked it.

Anything that comes out into the light of day, that is a compromise to our national security, will like Snaquebite said about Ms. Nancy "throw another monkeywrench into the works" Pelosi....will get swept under the carpet and forgotten (by the MSM). However, there will be those in, what is often called the "right wing media", that SHALL not forget!!! Perhaps, if it does happen (Lord willin' and the creek don't rise) it will spur more tea parties. Who knows?

This is going to be a wait and see, isn't it??
