Med bags at Disney World

The weekend was the Martial Arts US Open out at Disney World. Acting as a judge this time, I had plenty of opportunities to view the Disney paramedics in action.

We had to call them over to the ring where we had sparring for 30 and over males to treat a cut over the eye. The 2 medics showed up, 1 male, 1 female. The male looked at the wound and started requesting items from the female. She dropped her Disneyworld backpack on the floor and started searching for the items.

This was the typical kids backpack with one large zipper compartment. Her assorted bandaids were kept in a large ziplock bag, ointments and fluids in another, etc. At one point she got frustrated at not being able to find the correct size bandage and unloaded the bag on the floor, cursing under her breath.

When they were finished I said, "That's a poor excuse for an aid bag." She looked at me and said, "We have to use what they give us."

Aint that some shit. Billions a year in revenues and they can't even equip these people correctly.

Clippers, combs, picks, shampoo, a blow dryer, doggie nail clippers and polish, rhinestones, just what a young SF (San Francisco) soldier needs in his bag.

Talking

I have a vet by the name of Dr. Han. The dog with "no balls" goes in for surgery Wed for gall bladder stones.

Have him on Rx: Clavamox 250mg 2Xday/7days and Acepromazine 5mg as needed...to calm his ass down because of all the fireworks.

"Roo-Roo where the hell are you at?... the QPs guys are making jokes about you". And yes that is his name!

Shoot, back in Georgia, the medics would climb out of the rig, one smoking, the other spitting a dip out, while hitching his pants up.

The one time I stoped to help a bike v auto and this happened, i had more medical equipment than they did. Such a comfort.

At least in Alaska, every one has to be a Paramedic/FF.
