FBI arrest four in alleged plot to bomb Bronx synagogues, shoot down plane

The FBI busted a homegrown terror cell late Wednesday night as the men sneaked around a Jewish temple in Riverdale planting what they thought were packages of C-4 explosives, sources told the Daily News.

The four men also allegedly had what they believed was a working Stinger missile in their car: officials said they wanted to shoot down a plane near Stewart Air National Guard Base.

Sources said the four men were arrested after a year long investigation that began when an informant connected to a mosque in Newburg said some militants wanted to buy eplosives.

FBI agents posing as militants sold them what they thought were C-4 and a plane-downing Stinger missile.

The weaponry was all phony.

The men were arrested as they planted fake bombs in front of the Riverdale Temple in the Bronx and under cars parked in front of the synagogue.

They also allegedly planned to blow up a second synagogue, the Riverdale Jewish Center.

Witnesses said an NYPD vehicle blocked a black SUV outside the temple and then officers broke in the windows and handcuffed the four men inside the car.

All four men were US-born.

Arrested was alleged ringleader James Cromitie of Newburgh, the son of an Afghan immigrant and his wife.

Cromitie served a long stretch in prison in the past.

Alleged henchment David Williams, Onta Williams and Leguerre Payen were busted with him.

Sources said the three were jailhouse converts to Islam.

"This shows the real risks we face from homegrown terror and jailhouse converts, and the need for constant vigilance," said Rep. Pete King (R-NY).

The four alleged terrorists are expected to be arraigned Thursday in White Plains federal court.

...or how much easier it would be to break them out (from a logistical point of view) vs. Gitmo?

We were building this new High Security facility years ago down in TX just south of Austin.

It is a beautiful facility. It has the newest Dorms, the best Gyms and educational facilities West of the Mississippi. They have the newest re-educational programs and they even have a small water park to help relieve the stress of the inmates. There is also a Hog Farm and Vegetable Farm as part of the facility so that there is little or no cost for food as they raise everything they need there.

There has never been a escape or even an attempted escape since the Facility was built. The facility also is the cheapest in the US for the cost per inmate.

Those Texans have devised the best Prison and I think we should send the GITMO boys up there and let the Texans show the rest of the US how to deal with dangerous Terrorist.

The trick is in the in-processing of the inmates.

Step 1 - Jo Bob calls the roster when they get off the bus and signs them in to the facility.
Step 2 - Bo gives the new inmates their in-doc brief and tells them what will be allowed and what will not.
Step 3 - Jo Bob handles the Delousing of the inmates. It is a simple process and the inmates seam to like it.
First they strip down and are issued a bathing suit as they have to take a shower, be inspected and be deloused as needed. Then as they have had a stressful day they are moved over to the water park and allowed 2 turns going down the big Water Tube. It is great as it is 4 stories high and is a lot of fun. Well Jim Bob makes sure they are orderly and no one cuts in line and order is maintained as this is a Texas Correctional facility. After all inmates have made their 1st slide on the Great Allah Ride as Jim Bob like to call it he goes down to the water shed and turns off the Wood Chipper and lets the Hogs in to clean up the park before it open for the weekend for the Public so they can cover operational cost of the facility. The Warden sells 1/2 price spicy sausages and Beer at 15 cents a bottle.

Don't you just love Texas ingenuity in cutting cost and curbing crime..

You know closing Gitmo would be a great idea if you are employed by the federal Gov or subcontract for them...

Just think, we spread out 250 of the worlds most hardcore islamic cowards in our prisons, prisons full of jihad wanna-be's and BINGO we turn out our own home-grown islamic jihadist by the thousands!!! ('cept these guys will know the difference between real C-4 and the fake stuff, and they will not think twice about getting a few AK's and going to the local school or mall, not to mention how to set up real, home-grown islamic jihadist "cells".) It will be "24" for real!

DHS will have those terror threats alerts in all colors and start selling individual DHS "Alert Bracelets" that change color everytime a "home grown" islamic coward blows up a local elementry school.

Yup, a grand idea if you work in the "private security" industry! You'll never look for work again!

Keep a DHS/ATF/FBI/sub-contractor employed, CLOSE GITMO!

First off I'd like to say thanks to the FEEB, and other folks who put the kybosh and smack down out on these scumbags. At least they didn't send a memo via messenger pigeon first and actually took action on the threat.

That being said could some of the QP's here educate me as to why myself and fellow Americans are actually paying for our mortal enemies to continue to exist. If they've been milked dry of their intel, and they no longer serve any utility to our cause why are they still breathing, being given subsistence and clean copies of the Quaran on a regular basis again?? I'm asking because the list the pros don't equal the cons on my list of benefit vs reward..

You know TS,your right and the sheeple continue to pacify these terrorists, because it's PC to "feel sorry" for their terrorists asses..... 9/11 has gone by now and the sheeple feel comfortable and forgiving...... I mean after all haven't these poor souls at GITMO paid their dues, let them all go and lets see how well they will show us how they've been rehabilitated...........

If the "one" is so adamant about closing Gitmo then I have a solution, 50% of the islamic terrorists go to prisons in Chicago, 25% Hawaii and the rest in Calif. Really doesn't matter , 75% of them will be released in five years and working for ACORN.

You sheeple that voted for the "one" and "change" well here it comes....

I noticed the "one" said "some will go to a SuperMax facility.... How many Mr "one", how many?? And the hundreds of others??? Maybe a nice little prisons all over the United States of America where they can "force multiply"??? And teach the true way of the koran, islam, IED's, beheading infidels, blowing up schools, recruiting more islamic cowards....

America you bought and paid for this one..... when the "one" closes Gitmo and moves the terrorists you can start counting until we have our first home grown "real" islamic cowards committing acts of terror right here in America.

Well done you democrats, well done.

TS,

It is already happening.

There has been a host of murders of Philadelphia police officers in the past two years. Investigators have tenatively uncovered one common denominator among the doers of these cowardly murders....interest in or conversion to the religion of islam while incarerated. Is this a trend or just coincidence?

There's only one problem....there's only 1 bed left at our SuperMax. Just heard this on the morning news.

If Barry wants to move these guys here, they'll have to bulid an extension to house them.

I wonder if Texas will release the plans for their water park and pig farm to us.

I can see Letterman now -

Hey, whatever happened to all those terrorists from Guantanamo? They went to Texas and the hogs ate 'em.

Île du Diable is empty - as are many of the gulags. I'm sure there are NGOs looking for the possibility of such a contract.

It's going to get a whole lot worse if/when "The Community Organizer" closes Gitmo. Like I said Gitmo has the hard-core individuals and I'd place a wager only about 5 are headed to "SuperMax".

As most LEO's know prison is an education for the amateur criminal.

Cops usually deal with criminals and crazies, if "The Community Organizer" moves the islamic fascists the LEO's with add a new element to their list "crusaders".

One can negotiate with criminals and crazies, they have a profit motive and really don't want to die for their "cause". Not so for the islamic fascist "crusaders".

Funny how DHS has not written a threat analysis "paper" on what will happen when "the one" decides not to close Gitmo but with his "Community Organizer" powers just "moves" the prisoners to American prisons instead.

Shit will hit the fan.

Gates defends decision to close Guantanamo prison
AP, 21 May 2009

Defense Secretary Robert Gates says the Obama administration had no choice but to order the shutdown of the prison at Guantanamo because "the name itself is a condemnation" of U.S. anti-terrorism strategy.

In an interview broadcast Friday on NBC's "Today" show, Gates called the facility on the island of Cuba "probably one of the finest prisons in the world today." But at the same time, he said it had become "a taint" on the reputation of America.

Hmmmm. Where I come from we had an entirely different definition for the word "taint"!
