22. The Second Amendment right to carry a handgun, and the inherent right of self defense and self-preservation it advances, are not considered by Defendant Sacramento County to constitute “good cause” for the issuance of a handgun carry permit.

23. Defendant Sheriff McGinness is continuing Sacramento County’s “good cause” policy for denying applications for gun carry permits. On a public website maintained by Defendant Sacramento County, Defendant McGinness lays out his policy for determining applications to carry handguns. Defendant McGinness explains that “[t]he mere fear of victimization, or desire to carry a firearm, shall be insufficient” “good cause” to issue a gun carry permit. Defendant McGinnis also explains that “[w]hat may be good cause in one area of the county may not be in another area.”
...and this... is why California could slide into the ocean tomorrow, and the combined IQ if the Nation would increase greatly.

Does anyone here, comprehend, or know the location of, the planet where this type of thinking is considered to be even remotely logical?

Ref#22--- It appears that, the Sheriff acknowledges that people have a right to carry arms and defend themselves, but he really doesn't give a rat's ass, he's not going to issue permits anyway. Honest, law abiding citizens should be fleeing his domain in droves...

Finally, I believe that punishing lawful gun owners by creating new, more onerous laws, and restricting Constitutionally guaranteed rights, when we already don't enforce the tens of thousands of gun laws we have on the books, is like beating your dog because the neighbor's dog shit in your yard.

By the way, this lawsuit's chances are slim to none. But it's nice to see someone fighting the good fight . . .
