Something fell out of the forge.

This began it's life as a Willys CJ2A leaf spring and the remnant of a splitting maul handle.

The leaf spring was folded, forge welded, and shaped on my anvil with a six pound hammer. The cutting edge was quenched in used engine oil, and annealed in the kitchen oven.

The handle was shaped by hand, flame patterned, oil stained, and waxed.

I will be presenting this to a team member Saturday.
