SGM Danny Trevino

SGM Danny Trevino passed away on January 20, 2009. I just learned of his death in this month's addition of the "The Drop". The Special Forces Association's publication.

Danny was the Active Duty Advisor to A/2/12th SFG(A) in OKC back in the mid eighties. His obit lists his service with the 5th SFG(A), but I also know that he spent time with SFOD-D in the early 80's.

Danny was a hell of a soldier and all-around good guy. I wished I knew more about his early military service. Maybe somebody here can help.

Rest in Peace SGM.

RIP Danny

It was with deep sadness that I read of Danny's passing in "The Drop." Not long ago I tried to look him up. He spent quite a bit of time here in Tulsa with us 12th Grp'ers riding Harleys and not just being an SF Advisor, but a friend.

You will be missed by many, my friend.

SGM Danny Trevino ... my father

Thanks, for the prayers. My father was a great soldier and father. Please let me know if there is any information I can provide about my father. My sisters and I are doing everything we can to keep in touch with those who knew my father.

As a kid, I rode on the back of my dad's Harley to some of those units in Oklahoma and Arkansas in the late 80's. When he passed away in January, he was cremated as he wished. I rode with his remains strapped to the back of his Harley from McAllen, TX to San Antonio, TX. Our last ride. I've attached a few pics of the ride to this posting.

He was laid to rest with full miltary honors. Special thanks to the Special Forces Association for their attendance and honors!!!
