Will ya help a girl out?

I have debated for the past two days about posting this here. . I just decided to suck it up and go for it..

I was in DC last Friday, running a couple of errands at The Wall. Photographing a name, and leaving a note with money owed for someone
who's name is there.. While I was standing at the souvenir stand waiting to see if they had any pow/ MIA bracelets (no, out yet again). I have given far to many away. I ran into a group of Viet Vets from Far South Texas.
These guys were in town to testify at both the House of Reps and Senate committees on the need for a new VA hosp in far south Texas.
I made them a promise to post on the web and ask anyone I could find to support this bill by writing and calling their Reps and Senators asking them to support these two bills.

For both our Vets and Texas it is a win-win situation. A VA can bring much needed jobs to the area and our Vets win because they no longer have those 4,5, 6 hour one way drive to get medical care. Economic Stimulus at its finest and a damn good way to spend my tax dollars.

below I posted the bill, a link to the text, with sponsors
and a URL for the appropriate government body to find your reps or senators.. to write..

HB 1232
sponsored by Representative Ortiz
text: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c111:H.R.1232:
To find your Representative : www.house.gov

SB 699
sponsored by Senator Cornyn
text: well crap... the text has not been entered.. if you back track to the main Thomas website, type in sb 699. It has been read twice and referred to the Senate Committee on Veterans Affairs.

To find your Senator : www.senate.gov

In advance, thanks for any support you can give.

army mom.

ps... that title, was designed to get you to read this..
I would have posted a photo in tight jeans and red stiletto Jimmy Choos if I had to.. but well.........
you are reading aren't you?

photo below is those same Viet Vets the guy with his back to the camera and the words, "last patrol" on his jacket is a part of the group.. really nice guys.. hunted me down at The Wall to give me the bill numbers. Later, I saw one sitting in a SUV and realized they had driven all the way from McAllen.. LONG drive.. for one day in committee. So will ya help me get the word out?

Is there any other color for boots but RED????

THAT is a no brainer..
Both Stewart and Justin custom make boots in any color or combination.
Look in Western Horseman Magazine. There used to be ads for "pack boots"
look like cowboy boots but lace up.. any toe or heel you wish. I had a round toe and a dogging heel. Red boots are awesome with black leather shotgun chaps.

armymom,

Are you the redhead in that picture? Believe me I'm not trying to hit on you because I've been married 50 years now and I'm old enough to be your "grandpa". Just curious...............

Based solely on prior posts in this thread, I'd think that armymom would dress... "better"... than that.

What is wrong with the way the redhead in that picture is dressed????

Is it too late for the picture of the stilettos and tight jeans!? (emails sent, by the way...with all the billions going out the door, they should find room for this...)

Thanks for posting!

Depends...and I do adore little black dresses..but not today... Having lunch with my congresswoman Ginny Brown-White. She is on the House Veteran's Affairs committee. I am a woman with a mission!

She is also a huge supporter of my 2nd amendment rights. Worked on her last campaign and thus, have an "in". I am going to use that card today to ask her to toss that bill out into the open house asap.

I will hit up all my Senators today... Bob Graham, and Mel Martinez. It is, simply put, the right, the honorable thing to do.

Pinhead.... life is clothing optionable... especially offshore in the tropics.. unfortunately along with having red hair I have that far north European pearly white skin that burns and peels at the mere mention of sun. so sunscream is my friend, a very very intimate friend..

laters.. off to DC to play with politicians.. and photograph cherry blossoms!
