Search called off

This is 15 miles from my hometown. Local paper said search called off. Sounds like a low level flight and the local cowboys thought something different.

MSM...trying to be "first"...

Could have been some over-enthusiastic ranch hand who has never seen a low-level flight up close and personal….or the crew was goofing off buzzing cacti and didn’t think anyone was around

Betcha the Ops shack checked flight plans and a certain crew may have been engaged in a VERY one-sided discussion….

I agree. (I wondered if maybe the bird did some "touch and go's" on some lonely stretch of Texas highways....)

Also, if a C-17 crashed there would be no need for a "search" the smoke plume would be seen for maybe 100 miles......
