President Obama, after an uproar by veterans groups, has scrapped a plan to require private insurance carriers to reimburse the Department of Veterans Affairs for the treatment of troops injured in service.

"In considering the third-party billing issue, the administration was seeking to maximize the resources available for veterans," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said Wednesday in a written statement. "However, the president listened to concerns raised by the [veteran service organizations] that this might, under certain circumstances, affect veterans' and their families' ability to access health care.

"Therefore, the president has instructed that its consideration be dropped," Gibbs said.
First, and probobly only intelligent thing this Adminsitration has done, IMHO.

IMHO, DONT F**K WITH OUR U.S. VETERANS!

Yet more evidence of the current administration working at cross purposes with its own political interests. (To say nothing of the interests of America's veterans.)

Not only do I wonder if GEN Shinseki was consulted on this harebrained scheme, I wonder if the thought to consult him even crossed the minds of the president's staff?

Right now I want nothing more than a clear cut victory for the president to mark the end of amateur hour. (And even if it doesn't come to pass and the president continues to under achieve, I'm not going to be one of those citizens who feels "ashamed" of America and his fellow countrymen because of who lives in the White House.)

I fear we have another four years of this to come. The learning curve is just too steep for someone with such limited experience... Hum... seemed to remember pointing that crap out to the lefties during the election.

I found out who was responsible for Obama Flop!

I get these emails from IAVA run by Paul Rieckhoff. Today's email has certainly shown that Rieckhoff is a spin master for Obama. You will not believe how this flunky actually spinned the outcome of Obama's change of mind. This was cut from an email he sent out from his IAVA organization

Second, on what has proven to be a huge day for veterans, there has been another major development in Washington, DC. President Obama listened to IAVA and the other major veterans organizations, and made a critical decision to not move forward with a proposal to bill a veteran's private insurance for the cost of caring for a service-connected injury.

Today, President Obama showed that he understands and respects our nation's veterans.

Later this week, I'll have much more to report about this whirlwind week in Washington, DC, which included meetings with the President, Speaker Pelosi and VA Secretary Shinseki.

In the meantime, be sure to tune in tonight at 10pm on MTV, and keep an eye on your inbox for more breaking news from the nation's capitol.

Thank you for standing with us.

Sincerely,

Paul

IF the POTUS understood our veterans he would have a little respect and would have never suggested this crap, all this means is he made a calculated decision to no pursue it due to the political fight, that he knew he was going to lose, that isn't respect, it's just being a good politician.
