CSS, Cascading Style Sheets

Does anyone here have any strong experience with the above (for a website)...?

What are you aiming at accomplishing, if I may ask? If you are doing simple web page authoring and want to format the layout of your pages, there are tons of tutorials out there that make the process rather simple. If you are doing something along a corporate line, I can recommend a plethora of good programs to streamline the process. Whichever way, I may be able to help somewhat.

I hate CSS lol, but depending on the issue I can help, or give you a workaround.

Shawn, thanks for your response. You too Afterflow.

It's a corporate site (my brother's) www.esig.net The formatting for the website's template need tweaking,

If you wouldn't mind going to his website, you'll see all the verbiage is paginated to the left instead of content being centered in the "white page"...

He's unable to tweak the formatting to get it to look more aligned.

You have a few options here:

1. Microsoft Publisher is a great way to get a professional looking web page up in a short time, with a minimal learning curve. I prefer Publisher 07.

2. Adobe InDesign is a more "designer" focused program. Creativity can be stretched with this one.

3. TopStyle produces a user friendly CSS and HTML editor. Basically, create the whole, simple package in one simple program. Never used it, but have heard good things.

If I were you (or your brother), I would invest at least in Microsoft Office Enterprise, seeing how his business could grow exponentially very shortly. I just got off the phone from my old boss who owns a local, high end construction company, and we had a conversation about how the internet can make or break job efficiency, productivity, and sustainment. It's a whole new world out there. MSOE offers a whole business-centric package of software aimed at productivity, efficiency and sustainment.

Keep in mind, no matter what path you may choose, some education is needed. I am not a school taught computer geek. Everything you need to operate successfully with the aforementioned software is available via the internet. If the price point for the above software doesn't fit the pocketbook at the moment, look into the old school: a text editor, and some tutorials on CSS and HTML. All of which are available online.

That's my word on the subject. Please feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. I do know a bit about CSS...but you know my opinion of web page building now.

Thank you both, you each gave some great info!

Afterflow hit it, this particular template is created from Mac so it doesn't show well on IE but was fine on Firefox. We just need to find the line of code to fix...

Something is mapped incorrectly. If all you need is that bug fixed, let me snoop around some more and see if I can track it down.

My time has been very limited lately, and have had no luck tracking down your bug. The best I could tell you is to use one of the aforementioned programs to help speed along progress on designing and instituting a new webpage. I will look some more, if I can pull myself away from my car...

h3 {
width: 419px;
height: 30px;
float: left;
font: bold 12px/18px verdana, arial, tahoma, sans-serif;
padding-left: 0px;
color: #000;
margin-top: 1px;
cursor: default;

padding-left does not get rendered correctly from Firefox to IE. IE takes this and renders all the following headers to the left at 0px. Basically, tell your brother to set that value to 10px, and see if IE renders the padding correctly. Hopefully this works for you.
