FWIW - we are not a 'pure' democracy but a democratically constituted republic (which is what is taught in high school civics or government classes if the teacher is a good one and manages to keep the students awake, off their i-Phones, and participatory), we are not an empirical nation, and similarities in Historical events do not offer a guarantee of a repetition of results.
