Now when you say SOG in reference to knife it could refer to an original SOG knife, a copy of a SOG knife or a knife company named SOG.

the knife company SOG(SOG Specialty Knives and Tools, Inc.) traces its roots back to this knife. the knife was designed by Ben baker and manufactured through CISO. here is a link to the SOG web page at the bottom of the page is a PDF file of an article done in fall 1991 Fighting Knives magazine
