The study is flawed as they didn't construct their hats properly.

The shiny side goes on the inside, everyone knows that.

certain frequencies are in fact greatly amplified. These amplified frequencies coincide with radio bands reserved for government use according to the Federal Communication Commission (FCC). Statistical evidence suggests the use of helmets may in fact enhance the government's invasive abilities. We theorize that the government may in fact have started the helmet craze for this reason.
The helmets amplify frequency bands that coincide with those allocated to the US government between 1.2 Ghz and 1.4 Ghz. According to the FCC, These bands are supposedly reserved for ''radio location'' (ie, GPS), and other communications with satellites (see, for example, [3]). The 2.6 Ghz band coincides with mobile phone technology. Though not affiliated by government, these bands are at the hands of multinational corporations. [/QUOTE]

Well, That settles it --- I’m using DOUBLE tinfoil --- shiny side out on one piece, and in on the other. I’m covered either way, and not taken any chances.
Do you think this “study” was part of the conspiracy?

A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.

I spent many years wearing a "tin" hat.
That's the only name for a hardhat in the woods when logging.

I'd actually thought it helped on occasion.

I'm thinking about starting a MUFON chapter in my area. MUFON (The Mutual UFO Network) is dedicated to those that have been abducted by UFOs, have seen UFOs, and/or know about UFOs. Now, I have never been abducted, but hey, just in case.

From the article:
"Among a fringe community of paranoids, aluminum helmets serve as the protective measure of choice against invasive radio signals."

How good can this study be? These guys can't EVEN spell professional.

Has anyone thought about the fact, that the GOVERNMENT put these MIT guys up to saying that tin foil hats don't work ???

Saying that wearing of the foil, will amplify our thought waves instead of dampen or block them, in an attempt to get people to STOP wearing the foil, because maybe, the Government is really having a difficult time in getting the sheeple to do things, that the Government wants us to do, because they ARE wearing the foil.

People....people....DON'T be fooled by these types of articles. Just because some egg heads from MIT publish this type of piece, doesn't hold validity in the real world.

Now where did I put my copy of The Catcher In The Rye?

SDiver, you and SnT are onto something. I think we need more research! BTW, YOU owe me a keyboard now!

"copy of The Catcher in The Rye"??? Only one? Thought you had several.

Obviously, it was the cheap foreign tinfoil they used for the study. Buy American (ALCOA, HQs Pittsburgh, PA) and you won't have to lose any sleep over it.

...this article is an obvious attempt at reverse psychology

The gub-mint is just trying to downplay the efficacy of the tin-foil hat because the recent increase in hat wearing has depleted the pool of stolen thoughts that the gub-mint can use against us. If they can convince 'the fringe' that the hat doesn't work they know the 'less faithful' will stop wearing them. (the fringe is made up of cowards that are afraid to embrace 'the hat')

Trust me brother... the hat works. I haven't had any thoughts stolen since I started "wearing".

no, no, no. Must be double foil (the heavy stuff) with wax paper in the middle for proper "capacitance". Otherwise, while they're reading your mind, you'll be flipping from ohms to mhos too quickly. Sheeeesh!
