I was born in in the same town you're currently in and I didn't have/need any mentors.

Keep reading, run more and post less.

I keep seeing this myself, and wondering what is up with everyone wanting a sponsor, a mentor, or some sort of sugar daddy?

Hey, we are looking for people who can operate independently, as well as part of a team.

If you require someone to motivate you or to drag you along, this Special Forces thing may not be for you.

As the TS said, go do PT and spend your time here searching and reading. Everyone should have the SWCS PT Prep Handbook, follow the instructions within and dedicate yourself to never quitting.
