For example, Obama boldly came out in favor of "hard work and honesty, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism"--the most superficial and anodyne list of traditional American values one could possibly compile.
Patriotism? really? is that why he is making the stars in the flag into little O's and not wearing his silly little pin, because he is sooo patriotic.
The only thing that this election proves is that branding and consumerism rule all.

with that I am off to buy my BHO collectible coin set...

Buy two sets.

...one to shit on and one to cover it.
It's an old Team Motto(saying), we used to let someone know we thought some thing was worthless. We actually only needed to say I'll buy two of those... the rest was understood. Blitzzz

I think it's interesting. Overall expectations for the POTUS seem high; however, that creates a risk that disappointment will set in rather badly - and, perhaps, rather rapidly. Early indications hint that his efforts are not enhancing his image.

It is possible, in my opinion, that his election depended somewhat on a general repudiation of his predecessor - and his values do not necessarily harmonize with that of the overall population. If we combine that with disappointment, then effective governance may become problematic for the administration.
