The Mike Forces were as good as they come. I recall we were called in to exploit a target found by Omega recon in the 3rd-4th week of August 68. I was pulled out on the second day with my HF as I was told by the 20th SOS pilot over the intercom coming out that Duc Lap was hit. That day, the II Corps Mike Force camped outside the Omega compound and a buddy of mine was a company CO with them. I got him all the M60 ammo and other ammo they needed from our C-5 S-4. I think the 5th Group Mike Force came in ,too. Their yards did not have M16's as we had just got them earlier in SOG. Both Mike Forces saved that camp with our 20th SOS gunships doing some serious damage to the NVA. I have a lot of respect for those MF men. Those SF officers and mostly NCO's led battalions, companies, and platoons in charges against bunkers aand well entrenched NVA troops.
