In interviews such as this, usually neither the interviewer nor the interviewed, can see each other. There usually isn't a monitor set up. They only have ear pieces in and can only hear each other, and are told just to look straight into the camera.
Not only where Biden's eyes blinking at an increased rate, but his brow and mouth were starting to get into that "pissed off" look. Also, a few times, his nostrils were flaring.
I bet if there was a heart and B/P monitor set up on him, we'd have seen both increase dramatically.
