MSG(R) Phil Salzwedel
I received this from a friend this morning. For those of you that new MSG(R) Salzwedel,
" I just learned this morning that Phil Salzwedel passed away. Phil was a Vietnam veteran, Master Sergeant (Retired) Special Forces, and a long time civilian instructor in the SERE program. He was looked up to and respected by many generations of Special Forces soldiers. I had the honor of working with Phil and learning from him, during my time as a SERE instructor (1992-1995) at Camp MacKall and in the area north of Carthage NC, between Hwy 24/27 and the Deep River.
The viewing is tomorrow night 1800-2000 hrs (Tuesday, 21 Oct 2008) at the Fry & Prickett Funeral Home in Carthage - they are located on South Saunders Street, across the street from the Carthage Museum.
The funeral will be 1400 hrs Wednesday at Yates-Thagaard Baptist Church in Southern Pines."
RIP Phil
