Question Advice needed- lack of knowledge.

Gentlemen,

I need some advice. I know nothing about knife qualities whatsoever. I am happy with them as long as they perform.
I want to buy me a new knife. I found an Emerson I can order from Germany (136 Euros, free shipping), Emerson CQC 7B, Black-T Finish, Tanto, Serrated.
Looking all over the net it seems Strider knives are top of the bill.
Personally I find them a bit expensive compared to Emerson. On the other hand the Emerson knives seem a pain to sharpen.
Can someone give me the pros/cons of both brands pls? Also, any info regarding real-life experiences are very welcome.
Some info about me: I am part of a leo riot/intervention unit and would like a folder for work as well as edc.
My budget is around 140USD incl.shipping. -Mr.Harsey: Any advice/tips?

Thank you,

Chris.

I know, but (1) I need a folder, and (2) it is a bit over my budget.
A Harsey is a wet dream. I´ll have to wait ´till a major pay raise in about ten years.
Please stop making me drool over that excellent piece of cuttlery!!

You can't go wrong with an Emerson. Not difficult to sharpen at all. You only have to sharpen one side.

Thumbs up

Guess I will go for an Emerson CQC7.
I am still hesitating between a CQC7 without the wave function and the mini CQC7.
Thanks all.

I'm not really sure if WAVE is a good idea for all-round use tactical folder. It's very fast & cool when you wear jeans & tshirt, but imagine winter cloths & some military gear... wave could be a bit of pain than. There is nothing more dangerous for a user than fast draw of knife only to find it half-opened in hand.

I'd certainly stick to full size no-wave CQC7! Just my $0.02
