All American Week has kicked off. They say 16,000 were in Monday's run.

Memories of Division Review:

"pass and review" folowed by a *collective sigh*

Catch the bayonet first, then the soldier.

Story of the LGOP (was the first I'd heard it)

Review by the Mayor of St. Mere Eglise. A great piece of history.

Ah I always feel it turn my gut, there are some things about division I will always miss. One of them is getting heckled by the WWII or Korea vets about how much harder there AA run was back when Longstreet was more "hilly" and gravel.

All American Week. Ah, the memories. Painful memories. That Division review is probably the best recruiting tool in Special Forces' arsenal, at least in the Fort Bragg area.

I will say that meeting the old timers made all of the headaches worthwhile. I remember being accosted by one gentleman in his 80's, dressed in his original issue paratrooper jacket and still looking fit enough to pass a jump school physical. He told me that his last four jumps in the Army were Sicily, Salerno, Normandy, and Holland.
