Another bright, young and enthusiastic Soldier who gave all taking the fight to the enemy along side the Quiet Professionals. You'll be missed buddy, we'll see to it that you are not forgotten. I will upload his picture tonight.

PRESS RELEASE: Special Operations Intelligence Sergeant killed in Afghanistan

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (USASOC News Service, April 5, 2008) — An Army special operations intelligence sergeant died April 3 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany, from wounds suffered April 2 during combat operations near Zahn Khan District, Ghazni Province, Afghanistan.

Sergeant Nicholas A. Robertson, 27, a cryptologic linguist assigned to Headquarters Service Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne), served as a Special Operations Team-Alpha (SOT-A) assistant team sergeant until his death.

Robertson is survived by his parents, David and Nancy, of Venice, Fla., and brothers Doug and Todd.

Sergeant Nicholas A. Robertson, 28, died April 3 at Landstuhl Regional Medical
Center, Landstuhl, Germany from wounds sustained during combat operations April 2 near Zahn Khan District, Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, while serving with Headquarters Service Company, 3 rd Battalion, 3 rd Special Forces Group (Airborne). He deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2007 as a member of the Combined Joint Special Operation Task Force Afghanistan. This was his second deployment to Afghanistan. Robertson enlisted on May 26, 2005 in Portland, Maine following graduation from the University of Maine where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He attended Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. and Advanced Individual Training as a Cryptologic Linguist at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas. Sergeant Robertson graduated from United States Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, Ga. on Jan. 19, 2006. He reported to 3rd Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, N.C. on March 4, 2006 and was assigned to Special Operations Team Alpha (SOT A) 3301 as a Senior Voice Interceptor.

Robertson’s military education includes the Warrior Leaders Course and the Basic Airborne Course. Robertson’s awards and decorations include the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal, the Combat Action Badge, and Parachutist Badge. Robertson is survived by his parents David and Nancy of Venice, Fla., his older brother Doug and his younger brother Todd.
