WIND!!!!

We had a real Blow at 0330 today!! The top of my neighbor's tree (front yard type, 1 ea.) is laying against my back door!! The neighbor on the other side of me has his Chimney laying in the middle of his back yard!!

After I fix a section of my fence, I will launch a Brightlight for our Trampoline, that is MIA at the present time!! So far only a small piece of the frame and one spring have been recovered.

I'll keep watch for trampoline parts...

Statement as of 1:29 AM CDT on April 10, 2008

... Wind Advisory in effect until 9 PM CDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect until 9 PM CDT this evening.

A strong low pressure system currently over West Texas will move
northeast over the area today. This system and its associated
fronts will continue to generate southerly winds of 20 to 30 mph
with gusts to 40 mph. Winds should decrease tonight as the low
pressure center distances itself from North Texas.

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 20 to
30 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving
difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Boaters should
use extra caution when venturing onto area lakes. Residents may
wish to take action to secure trash cans... lawn furniture... and
other lightweight outdoor objects that may be blown around in the
strong winds.

We have one in the backyard also. Everytime a big blow comes up around here somebody's launches through the back yards. Those and free standing metal carports like to go visiting when a gust hits them just right.

Glad to hear you are okay. As soon as the snow melts, we still have a few feet, I will be out with the chain saw cutting up three large pines that came down over the winter that I was only able to trim back in the deep snow. If I find your trampoline, I'll give you a shout.

Many 8 to 12 inch diameter trees snapped off at ground level. These were not straight line winds!!!

If any of you have been following the storms in the southeast recently, then you know that Mississippi, particularly Jackson, has had a lot of storms this spring.
We had several huge pine trees blown down and part of the roof on one of our barns was blown off.

I have a neighbor who has a trampoline, he has turned it upside down and tied it to a tree until the weather calms down, seemed like a good idea to me.
