In Memory of SEALS

I spoke with a very good friend yesterday who lost a team mate last Wednesday on a jump in Arizona. Senior Chief Petty Officer Thomas Valentine, 37, is survived by his wife and two children. Besides losing Chief Valentine they have also lost the following in just the last few weeks:

Chief Petty Officer Mark Carter, a 27-year-old from California; Chief Petty Officer Michael Koch, 29, of Pennsylvania; and Chief Petty Officer Nathan Hardy, 29, of New Hampshire from combat operations.

Also recently killed in a training accident at Mid-South, SEAL Shapoor Alexander Ghane Jr.

Our prayers are with you and your families.

I jumped with Ghane while in the medic course - he was there for SOCM. He was a good guy: second generation Iranian (folks came over after the Shah), committed to being a team guy and had a good sense of humor.

Peace be upon you Shapoor and your family.
