G.I. Jill / SGT Jill Stevens
A friend called this to my attention today and after taking a close look at her I thought it was worth passing on especially since the MSM seems to focus in on the shady females serving in the military, not the exceptional ones. She's been put on recruiting duty while she tours the country speaking on Emergency Preparedness this past year. Her photos are awesome, I'm pretty sure its got to be the first time that they've taken photos with the tiara, ACUs and an M4A1. I really like the 10th MTN DIV patch she's got on. I'm a little partial to that one.
I realize most of you probably don't follow pageants, but if the TV happens to be on TLC on Jan 28th keep their fingers crossed for this one. Although, based on the amount of releases I've seen Miss America throw out about her I'm guessing the pageant needs her more than she needs the pageant. She is a registered nurse now and has applied for a full commission to be an Army Nurse now.

From her bio:
For the past 6 years, Jill Stevens has been serving in the US Military as a Combat Medic in the Utah National Guard, while earning her degree in Nursing at Southern Utah University. In November 2003, Jill was deployed to Afghanistan, returning home in April 2005. She has earned 5 medals for her outstanding service, and was the first female finisher of the inaugural Afghanistan Marathon, making a total of 12 marathons she has completed together with earning the highest Fitness award during Army Basic Training. In representing the Army National Guard, Sergeant Stevens recently addressed Generals from 40 different nations gathered at Hill Air Force Base.

Finally, you can vote for her in "America's Choice" here (she's Miss Utah):

Reason: Got the title wrong - it's Jill, not Jane

Shar,
Thanks for the info. She is beautiful as well as commited to serving this great nation. She doesn't seem the type that would want to be all "machismo" about her service either, rather just proud to serve, IMHO.
Thanks to her and all who serve to protect Our freedom!
Oh and, good luck to her...I heard that "beauty contests" can be rough!

You two
You two are trying to tempt me into saying something I shouldn't.
I'll just say "nice pictures" and thanks for the posts.

Oh yes, there was a HUGE spread on her in Soldier Magazine....
It was a shame she had her CMB on UPSIDE DOWN in one of the photos

If I were in need of repository resuscitation, dear lord please let her be the FIRST, First Responder.
Upside down, left-side right, or inverse through a kaleidoscope. I wouldn't care. At least I know she has earned that merit badge.
Kudos to her and if she does not make the final 10, then it's obvious that all the pageant judges are all card carrying members of Code Pink; or repressed closet lesbians..

So I'm flipping through the stations on TV...land on the Miss America pagent and see SGT Stevens has made the top sixteen. Unfortunately she was cut and didn't make the top 10...but when her name was called she dropped and gave 'em 20! LOL...several of the others in the line joined her, it was pretty hilarious and good natured of her.
