From the rest of the interview....
Quote:
Asked how she explained the events to her daughter, she said, “I told my daughter the truth. I told her we wrote an essay and they said it was a lie. And I refused to accept the tickets. I told her there will be another time.”

What kind of "truth" is that?

Shake my head
I can only shake my head at what some people can do, and then explain why they did it.
And the sad thing is they don't see it as wrong.

IMO that is just as bad as some of the false cancer claims I have seen on the news. Next time she should just go to her local VA and spit on a soldier, theres not much of a difference.

Did she "refuse to accept the tickets" before or after she was exposed as a fraud?

And there's a semantics/saving face campaign as well.
The contest's sponsor, a store chain named Club Libby Lu, withdrew the prize Saturday and awarded it to another contestant. It didn't identify the new winner.

In the CNN article, and aparently the interview, it looks as if she refused the tickets. From this short article a few days ago, it looks like the company took them back.
If she's brought up on fraud charges, would it be cruel and unusual punishment or having the punishment fit the crime to have her do community service at funerals or memorials?

Exactly! I heard her voice message "expalation" on Fox, and she never once said, "I am sorry, or I was wrong."
Oxegen thief! I feel sorry for the little girl.

EDIT to add her quote:
“I’ve had to move out of my home. I’ve received a lot of bad — a lot of harassment all over the Internet. I’ve been forced to close down my MySpace page. I have not been able to eat or sleep well. I have been very depressed.”
Good riddance lady!

I would NOT want her anywhere near a funeral or a memorial. Can't Understand Normal Thinking.

The store, to their credit, denied the prize to that woman and kid before she put on her little dog and pony "I'm sorry" show.

Wow, I feel SO sorry for her.
What ever happened to people taking responsibility for their actions? The example she's setting for her daughter is horrible.
