Question Mayor Levy thing

OK....perhaps there is some light that can be shed on this from someone with a lot more knowledge than me. Mayor Levy (Atlantic City) has gone into hiding after it has been found out that he "embellished" his stellar 20 yr Army Career by saying he was "a member of the elite "Green Berets" in Vietnam". Which he wasn't.
His TWO combat tours and TWO bronze stars have been validated....but that wasn't enough. He played the "I was SF" card.
Now-he has gone into hiding after being busted. He now has a federal investigation pending. NOT for Stolen Valor act. Not for wearing unauthorized medals....
He is being investigated for "receiving VA benefits that are only afforded to Army Green Berets. This particular point has been stated over and over again on Fox / CNN / and the "Pentagon Channel". What are these benefits that are only afforded to SF guys? IS there such a thing or is this just one more example of the news services being misinformed?
I have heard this emphasized and RE-Emphasized and I finally gotta just ask.

Atlantic City Mayor to Resign After Disappearing From Sight

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,299945,00.html

The newspaper learned that Levy lied when he said he was a Green Beret, and used the false claim to bump up his veterans' benefits payments by about $25,000.

Eagle if you find out how to up you bennie's by $25,000. , let us all know.

I don't think he has two Bronze Stars. From what I have seen they are talking about a campaign ribbon with two bronze devices. Could be wrong though.

My guess would be that he filed a fraudulent claim for pension increase based on his "Green Beret" war stories.

There is no benefit solely for former SF soldiers.

Mayor Robert Levy?

I have made phone calls to The Mayors Office;609-347-5510 and to the Police Information desk;609-347-5780;The Police Chief;609-347-5709 and to the Atlantic City Press News Desk;609-272-7017 and no one will give any information on Mayor Robert Levy.I would think that with all the publicity that the Mayor of Atlantic City has received in the past week some of the former soldiers who have served with the Mayor would have come foreward and contacted the Atlantic City Press or the news media in general and would give additional information on the Mayor's prior service in Vietnam. Also I don't know of any special benefits for special forces veterans at the Veterans Administration or at the VA Hospital...Regards,tom kelly
