RIP Luciano Pavarotti

I hope that I am not the only one who was sorry to see Big Luciano pass on to meet his maker.

We played his performance of "Nessun Dorma" from Puccini's "Turandot" tonight for the kids to marvel at.

Both of them were shocked by the big guy's ability to hit and hold the High C.

RIP, and thanks for the memories.

Drudge had a link to a YouTube video of "Nessun Dorma". I tried imagining what it would be like to stand close by while Mr. Pavarotti was singing. Such power in his voice, and such beauty as well. Needless to say, he got a standing ovation at the end of his performance.

RIP, Mr. Pavarotti. Teach the angels how to hold the high "C".

The one song I could play in Iraq and pretend I wasn't there anymore.

God needed a Tenor to sing with the Heavenly Host. RIP.

My father complained about spending $60 a ticket to take my mother to see him here at Riverbend Music Center several years ago. My mother however saw the cost as a value and within the eye of the beholder. I agree with her. Had I known at time that he complained, I'd have spent twice that to have had her up front and personal.

RIP Lucciano

I remember the first time I heard him. I was not an opera fan, but I had chills running up and down my spine. Listening to some of his works tonight, I still get them. I can’t explain it, but I guess it’s some innate recognition of genius.

Rest in Peace, Luciano!

I'm fortunate enough to have heard him in concert... what power...

My little sister asked me today who he was, as I explained FOX News played a clip of him singing "Ave Maria" and she started mimicing him, not singing, just moving like him.... as it was funny, I'm glad she could appreciate his talent and his blessing...

RIP Sir, shall you sing with the Angels and know everlasting peace.

Thank you for gracing us with you voice...

Spot on there....Nossum Dorma is an outstanding song...and only Pavarotti could have pulled it off....anyone heard Micheal Bolton trying to do a pavarotti and destroying that wonderful piece?
