China just attacked me
I just got a Norton Internet Security Alert saying that Norton had blocked an intrusion attempt. The intruder was IP address 202.99.23.65 (4370). A whois lookup shows that to be owned by the Chinese People's Daily Online Editorial Staff.
Googling that address also shows lots of internet security reports of attacks from the same port.

Obviously, the People are trying to strike back against you as a member of the bourgeoisie.
Enemy and oppressor of the proletariat, you have been found guilty by the People and sentenced to a loss of your internet service.
No longer will you be able to spew your vile, anti-revolutionary, capitalist agitprop.

Sounds like it's time for a retaliatory distributed denial of service attack. Any volunteers for AL's zombie army?

Our work has been sending us some emails warning about trojan attacks and other cyber stuff. They have never done that before.

If any of you do not already have it, you NEED to get a GOOD FIREWALL, like Norton Internet Security!!! It will make you invisible.

There are a remarkable number of attacks going around. One possibility to consider is that the People's Daily machine was compromised by someone else, who decided to use it as an intermediary. There is a variety of free software that can be installed in a computer to accomplish this, and some of them cover their tracks rather will.
The article in Wikipedia ( LINK is a good introduction.
You might also find information about honeypots of interest. I had a chance to look at the logs from one; a Romanian (apparently, based on language and some references to places) hacker compromised a machine at a South Korean school, and used that to attack a Linux box in San Antonio set up to record such attacks.
Honeypot Link
There are quite a lot of weak points in most networks and home machines. One need only Google my screen name to find one of the more popular tools to analyze remote networks and machines. (No, I have no connection with the program - I'm just an admirer of the code.)
BTW - I'm not giving anything away to the bad guys here. These days, a great many teen-agers do such things. They're sometimes called "script-kiddies" since they have no theoretical understanding of what they're doing; rather, they just mindlessly try the same attack on a great many sites. It is my opinion that good people need to be aware of what the bad people are doing so as to better protect themselves.
