The klintions just sold millions of Wal-Mart stock a day or two ago, now I think I know why.......
China produces a lions share of what Wal-Mart sells.
Want to bet hillary klinton just received a top secret intel report concerning China just prior to the selling the Wal-Mart stock?
Must be nice to have access to top secret intelligence and buy and sell stocks based on that intelligence.............
"The Bush administration has been trying to hide or downplay the intelligence reports to protect its pro-business policies toward China,"

I cannot help but believe that China's increasing industrial and economic
might will lead to unpleasant consequences. They are growing rapidly,
and sustaining that growth requires both markets - such as the U.S.
and WalMart - and resources. I think the desire for resources is the
key.
Their attempted aquisition of Unocal back in 2005 is suggestive
of a strategy to convert currency accumulated from trade imbalances
into raw materials to fuel further growth. Add to this that the Daquing oil
field - China's largest onshore field - is in decline. Since Iran still has
exportable oil and natural gas, and is arguably a gateway to the Middle
East, there is every reason for China to strengthen their relationship with
Iran. The additional problems they create for the U.S. might well be something
they regard as a benefit. Perhaps they are pursuing a strategy not unlike
what the U.S. used against the USSR in Afghanistan.
On a side note, I suspect that selling WalMart stock was a good decision.
I wouldn't care to own airline stock either. Isn't it interesting that Bill Clinton
was quoted in a speech, circa 2006, as saying: "We may be at a point of peak oil production". Given WalMart's business model and customer demographics, such a possibility is at least problematic.

Well, it looks like we are starting to see who our friends and allies really are now. Maybe we should start thinking about isolating ourselves a little bit more and stick to the people we know have our back.

That would be an extremely short list, maybe down to one or two nowadays, some of which would be a bigger liability than asset.
