Orginally I wanted the option of a flip down FS, but the LaRue mounts the Aimpoint high enough so that the BUIS only obstructs my FOV by 1/4. I would prefer the durability of the fixed FSB (also, in a high-stress scenario, it is one less thing for me to have to worry about). The Troy BUIS is going on my SPR. The PRI GB is on order (wife and kids limits my toy budget).  |
Trust me, I know about Knights customer service, after the sale ! I own the .223 QD and the .45 ACP OHG suppressor and dont dare ask for service if your a civillian. I believe Reed is trying to improve this sector of his business for civillians. As for the M4QD suppressor, it's not a total failure and I agree, it was, for it's time, the only game in town for a QD can for your AR15.
SWR (Joe Gadinni) and AAC and Surefire have excellent customer service. Joe has kinda reliquished his suppressor business to some partners and is concentrating on fulfilling his GRIPPOD contract with the U.S. Marine Corps. From what I understand he's not hurting for lunch money anytime soon after that contract was awarded to him for his GRIPPOD.
The Reapers thread on the Surefire and some other readings have lead me to investigate it further.
Joe has been much like Mark LaRue in his business. He's straight with you, he tells the truth, and he lives up to his word and services his customers as good as anybody in the business. He threw in one of his GRIPPOD's when he sent back my .45 ACP HEMS II suppressor. I didn't ask for it, it was there in the package. Good people.
Actually I'm on the phone now with Joe and he said to go with the AAC can. That's good coming from a man who is in competition with them.
