Smile Children are surprising

Yesterday I learned that there are children who are being brought up the "right" way.
Despite all the horrible news about today's youth, here is one little guy who knows his P's and Q's.

I was at Academey Sports with my sis.
We were at the check-out, and sis was handing me her clothes when I noticed a little boy standing
next to her wheelchair, looking fervently at the ground. I followed his gaze to the floor, where a large
wicker basket sat with American flags. Somehow, my sister's chair had rolled forward in to it, and
a flag was on the ground under her foot.

The little guy reached down, and grabbed the flag's pole and tried to lift it,
but sis's shoe was on top of the flag. We manuvered, and the flag came free. He then brushed it off,
and blew on it, to free it from the dust. Very carefully, he placed the flag back in the basket.
I looked at him, and was amazed to see him unfurl the flag, and make sure it was sitting upright.

The little guy stood there for a few secounds, looking at my sis, (Kids are great!), then went back over to his family.

I told my sis what happened, and She agreed I should post it here for ya'll.
She enjoys hearing the tales that are told here, especially about "Sneaky's pointy stick!"

Holly,
A nice WIN, WIN story to start the day.

1st) That the little guy knows how to treat our flag with the respect it deserves, where we're reading about people burning said flag at protests around the country. It warms my Red, White and Blue heart to hear/read things like this.

2nd) That your sis is coming along beautifully. Sounds as if she's getting stronger and stronger everyday. Tell her from us, that it's great to hear her doing so well and that we're with her all the way.

BTW....she still owes me a dance. When she's ready, I'll be by to collect.

Oh Does She! She hasn't quit, and everyday is a stronger day for her...
Thank you for posting that.

Sister

I dont know what condition your sister is in or why, but I'll include her in my prayers tonight and nights to come. Hope she's doing well.

Prayers out for her.

By the way, thanks for sharing the story with us. I can only hope that my son would act accordingly if put in the same position. I believe he would.
