Great Unknown Music

Sorry but I have a relatively new iPod and so I'm interested in music right now. Name a song (and the band/artist that performs it) that is not widely known but is really good.

Again, I'll start.

Tremolo, Evil Twin.

"Jockey full of Bourbon" & "Tango 'til They're Sore" by Tom Waits
Also there's quite a few songs off his album "Real Gone" that I enjoyed.

Homocide - 999 (might be too punk for you)
Nazi Punks Fuck off - Dead Kennedys
Every time I eat Vegetables, it makes me think of you - Ramones
The KKK took my Baby Away - Ramones
21 Guitar Salute - Dropkick Murphys
anything you can find by Asleep at the Wheel (yes, I'm following punk with country) best album IMHO, Collision Course.

That's enough oddity for this morning

I don't know what you consider "unknown."

Don't know about how unknown they are, but here's a few I get stuck in my head:

If you're in an aggressive type mood (and don't mind "Cookie Monster" vocals):
"Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste" - Norma Jean
"Through Struggle" - As I Lay Dying
"Walk" - Pantera (known, but a classic)
"Burn" - Throwdown
"Pillars of Eternity" - Down

If you're in a more mellow mood:
"Wiser Time" - The Black Crowes
"Change" - Blind Melon
"Echoes" - Pink Floyd (16 minutes and 30 seconds of sit back and relax)
"Say Goodbye" - Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds

If you're in a spiritual mood:
"King of Glory" - Third Day
"Jesus" - Rich Mullins
"Mothership" - Glisten

How's that for "one end of the spectrum to the other"?

Just because I can.....

Best of Ellington - all vocals by Rosemary Clooney - any tune on it
Anything by Nina Simone
Coltraine ('nuff said)
Parker
Muddy Waters (blues, but killer)
Robert Johnson
Les Paul
Willie Nelson's jazz
Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys (yup, big band swing and country in one place)
Count Basie

Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick and Aqualung (whole album) - one song off Aqualung would have to be Hymn 43 or Locomotive Breath

Epic - Faith No More
